Securus Technologies issued corrections to the Global Tel*Link press release. Securus states that GTL news release contains inaccurate statements that are clearly misleading. Therefore, Securus determined to correct GTL and determine clarification on relevant clauses.
GTL alleges that they are pleased that PTAB determined all the printed innovations to allow the company to move back to court to protect its technology to enable law enforcement to monitor video visits.
Securus corrects GTL. GTL is asserting one independent claim although PTAB declined to review the claims challenged. Secures believe that it does not practice the security feature disclosed by the independent claim as to the one claim asserted by GTL.
GTL is aware that patent lawsuit can take millions of dollars to pursue and many years to complete the chase. Therefore, Securus questions whether the approach taken by GTL makes sense regarding the company’s best interest or financial practices. However, Securus will continue to assert their patents in response and defend themselves from the attacks launched by GTL.
