Heather Russell Selected As New Chief Legal Officer Of TransUnion

After working at several global financial services companies for over 20 years, Heather Russell was recently chosen as the new Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of TransUnion, which she considers to be one of the leaders in the category of consumer credit reporting. Her responsibilities as CLO entails handling corporate legal compliance, and consumer data and privacy protection for the company and all of its subsidiaries. She reports to the CEO of TransUnion, Jim Peck, who has expressed that he sees her as being a great asset and a strong addition to his business, because of her many years of experience in corporate finance, which includes her previous positions at financial institutions such as Bank of America, where she held the position of Associate General Counsel, and Fifth Third Bank, where just like at her new job at TransUnion, she was Chief Legal Officer and Executive VP, as well as Corporate Secretary, according to bloomberg.com.

Heather Russell also worked in London and Washington, DC while she was with a company called Skadden, Arps, a business she spent 8 years with and gained more experience at when it comes to the world of corporate financial services that involves things like mergers and acquisitions. In addition, she held a top executive position with the Buckley Sandler law firm right before she was offered the opportunity to take her vast legal and financial services knowledge to TransUnion in her new leadership role at the company. She became a top nominee for the job soon after the previous CLO, John Blenke, made it known that he was retiring last year. The exceptional businesswoman was an honors graduate who attended American University’s Washington College of Law and earned a JD degree. She also attended the College of William and Mary and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.
