When it comes to top of the line recruiters Yanni Hufnagel has to be at the top of the list. Recruiters don’t get much credit mainly due to the fact that they are pretty much always behind the scenes. They don’t get the publicity as a head coach or someone of that caliber. However, when you think about what Yanni Hufnagel has done in his career you can’t help but to admire what he has done. Even a number of coaches express how fortunate a team would be if he was a part of their staff. Look at his resume’ and you’ll wonder why he isn’t at the highest level already. Just like the article states he is at the prime age in his career. At this point he’ll have a long successful career at his current level and moving on to the next.
Looking back at Hufnagel’s career we see where he added top recruits to the California, Vanderbilt, and Harvard rosters. He was even a major component of the success of NBA star Blake Griffin who is known for his phenomenal athleticism and monstrous dunks. Another highlight of his career is being responsible for expanding Jeremy Lin’s game while at Harvard. Definitely something to be proud of.
In spite of the allegations at California, Yanni Hufnagel continues to advance in his field of recruiting and as an assistant coach. Now with the University of Nevada, it appears that he will maintain that high level of output at his position. Yanni Hufnagel will definitely continue the success that Head Coach Eric Musselman has initiated with the University of Nevada.
